Supporting TCS

Three Cedars depends upon a mix of support from each family in the form of tuition, gifts, and volunteerism. The amounts and proportions will be different for each family, in different circumstances. We ask that you participate in all three ways to the extent that is healthy for your family.

Volunteering

Three Cedars does not utilize service contracts, minimum volunteer hours, "buying out" volunteer time, nor guilt and shame. Our happiest volunteers and donors make their gifts of time and financial support out of freedom and a sense of personal responsibility and enjoyment. Healthy boundaries, including time management and choosing work that is personally fulfilling are key. Every adult in our community has to consider his/her life situation, work schedule, financial means, and other factors when deciding when and how to support Three Cedars appropriately. In valuing high participation and philanthropy, including volunteer work, we model attitudes and disciplines of living in community that serve as important examples to every child in the school.

Fundraising Campaigns

As in other independent schools, tuition and fees fund only a portion of the school's expenses. A significant portion of regular operations are funded by annual cash donations and gifts of securities. Separate capital campaigns fund projects such as site expansion. Auction

The school's biggest fund-raising event is also a huge amount of fun. It is our community's big night out without children and a way to support the school while shopping for the holidays! The Auction Team makes procurement of items for our auction easy and largely painless. Do not miss your mailed invitation, bring friends and family, and bid generously!
